Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.

📋 Description

• Manage specialized data scraping assignments for the Tendem project.

• Oversee complete data extraction processes across intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of organized datasets.

• Utilize tools and tailored workflows to expedite data gathering, validation, and task execution.

• Consistently extract data from dynamic and interactive web sources.

• Adjust scraping methodologies for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency measures, formatting guidelines, and systematic verification.

• Expand scraping operations for extensive datasets using effective batching or parallel processing.

• Supervise failures and ensure stability against minor alterations in site structure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.

• Solid technical foundation and practical experience in scripting, automation, and data extraction workflows.

• Proven ability to tackle complex problems using modern development tools and technologies.

• Experience in systematically gathering, structuring, and validating data from various sources.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar, dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll), and APIs via proxies.

• Capability to extract data from intricate structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, providing structured datasets in CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets formats.

• Experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent and containerization using Docker.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar applied to automation tasks.

• Strong attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English at an Upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher.

• A GitHub link is considered a plus.
