Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Manage comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites.

• Ensure thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize tools and tailored workflows to expedite data collection, validation, and task execution.

• Reliably extract data from dynamic and interactive web sources, including content rendered by JavaScript.

• Modify scraping strategies in response to evolving site behaviors and minor structural changes.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting specifications, and systematic verification.

• Enhance scraping operations for substantial datasets using effective batching or parallelization techniques.

• Monitor failures and sustain scraping stability.

• Employ tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies alongside technical expertise.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.

• Strong technical foundation and practical experience with scripting, automation, and data extraction workflows.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar, as well as handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies.

• Proven capability to extract data from complex structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML formats.

• Solid experience in data cleaning, normalization, and validation processes.

• Experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent.

• Experience in using containerization with Docker in real-world workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar, applied to automation tasks.

• Keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher.

• A GitHub link is a plus.
