Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites, ensuring thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize existing tools and tailor-made workflows to expedite data gathering, validation, and task execution while adhering to established requirements.

• Guarantee reliable extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, adjusting methods for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behavior.

• Implement data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting specifications, and systematic verification prior to delivery.

• Enhance scraping operations for extensive datasets by employing efficient batching or parallel processing techniques.

• Oversee failures and sustain stability against minor alterations in site structure.

• Employ tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies in conjunction with technical expertise and customized strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• Proficient experience in Python web scraping, including BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar tools, handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll), and APIs via proxies.

• Demonstrated capability to extract data from complex structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, providing structured datasets in CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets formats.

• Proven experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site architectures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or similar, along with containerization using Docker.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar for automation tasks.

• Keen attention to detail and a dedication to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English at Upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.
