Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites, guaranteeing thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize available tools and customized workflows to expedite data gathering, validation, and task execution while adhering to specified requirements.

• Ensure consistent extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, adjusting methods to accommodate JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting guidelines, and systematic verification prior to delivery.

• Enhance scraping operations for extensive datasets by employing efficient batching or parallelization, monitoring failures, and ensuring stability against minor site structure alterations.

• Leverage expertise in web scraping, data extraction, and data processing for the Tendem project.

• Employ tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other relevant technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar frameworks), including handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies.

• Proven track record of extracting data from complex structures (hierarchies, archived pages, inconsistent HTML).

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).

• Demonstrated experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) as part of real workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks.

• Keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the capability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (required).
