This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites.
• Guarantee thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of organized datasets.
• Utilize available tools and tailored workflows to expedite data gathering, validation, and task implementation.
• Consistently extract data from dynamic and interactive online sources, including content rendered by JavaScript.
• Modify scraping techniques in response to evolving site behaviors and structures.
• Uphold data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting guidelines, and systematic verification.
• Scale scraping operations for extensive datasets by employing effective batching or parallel processing.
• Monitor failures and maintain stability against minor changes in site structure.
• Utilize tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies for web extraction and processing.
• Work autonomously on specialized data scraping workflows for the Tendem project.
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (required).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.
• Strong technical foundation and practical experience in scripting, automation, and data extraction workflows.
• Significant experience in Python web scraping, including BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar tools, handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll), and APIs via proxies.
• Proven capability to extract data from complex structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.
• Solid background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets in CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets.
• Demonstrated experience managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent and experience with containerization using Docker in actual workflows.
• Practical experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar applied to automation tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
• Self-motivated work ethic and the ability to troubleshoot independently.
• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above (required).
• A link to GitHub is a plus.
• Freelance, part-time remote opportunity.
• Estimated 10–20 hours per week during active phases (not guaranteed).
