Senior PV, BESS Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Responsible for the technical design and planning of large-scale photovoltaic and battery storage projects throughout all phases.

• Evaluating sites regarding topography, technical conditions, and land availability.

• Creating optimal system concepts.

• Preparing and reviewing technical planning documents, layouts, cable sizing calculations, single-line diagrams, and various engineering documentation.

• Performing yield forecasts and conducting performance analyses using PVsyst.

• Assisting in the technical and commercial optimization of projects.

• Engaging in site inspections, evaluating technical risks, and compiling related analyses and reports.

• Offering technical support to internal teams as well as external experts, consultants, and business partners.

• Aiding in technical due diligence processes, along with technical coordination and negotiations with external stakeholders.

• Collaborating with project development, project management, construction, and engineering teams throughout the construction phase.

• Providing support and mentorship to colleagues on the Engineering team regarding technical inquiries.

• Ensuring the quality of engineering and planning deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.

• A minimum of five years of professional experience in the planning and design of utility-scale photovoltaic systems.

• Additional experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS) is a plus.

• Strong understanding of the technical and commercial elements of solar and energy storage projects.

• Familiarity with PV modules, inverters, transformers, cable systems, and medium- to high-voltage technology.

• Experience in preparing technical designs, energy calculations, and engineering documentation.

• Proficiency in PVsyst, AutoCAD, PVcase, QGIS, or similar planning tools.

• Structured and self-directed work style, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.

• Analytical mindset with a solution-oriented approach and excellent communication skills.

• Strong English language skills; proficiency in German is an advantage.
