This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.
• Oversee the comprehensive development of proposals for library system acquisitions, which include ILS/LSP, discovery, digital resource management, and analytics.
• Evaluate RFP requirements from libraries, consortia, and governmental organizations to ensure total compliance.
• Formulate proposal strategies that align with functionality, interoperability, accessibility, and total cost of ownership criteria.
• Coordinate timelines, schedules, and deliverables among cross-functional teams.
• Craft and refine detailed RFP responses utilizing Loopio and AI tools.
• Articulate library functionality, discovery layers, interoperability, cloud architecture, hosting, security, and data privacy.
• Convert technical platform capabilities into tangible outcomes for librarians, faculty, and patrons.
• Create strategic messaging, win themes, executive summaries, and value narratives.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, Implementation, Support, Security, Professional Services, and additional teams.
• Facilitate proposal kickoff meetings, review cycles, compliance checks, and content strategies.
• Sustain reusable library-technology content, case studies, templates, methodologies, and training approaches.
• Construct compliance matrices addressing functional requirements.
• Tailor proposals for specific institutions and consortia.
• Assist in presentations, demonstrations, and oral proposals directed at library stakeholders.
• Guide junior writers on library-specific content and standards.
• Monitor proposal success metrics and aid in win/loss reviews within the library market segment.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Library Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5–10+ years of experience in proposal writing, ideally within library technology, EdTech, or SaaS platforms catering to the public sector or education.
• Deep understanding of library operations and workflows.
• Strong knowledge of metadata standards and interoperability.
• Proficient understanding of cloud-based enterprise software solutions.
• Proven experience responding to formal RFPs for public or academic institutions.
• Excellent writing, editing, and project management capabilities.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or a similar field.
• Preferred: In-depth knowledge of Symphony ILS.
• Preferred: Experience engaging directly with libraries (academic, public, or consortia).
• Preferred: Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG and public procurement requirements.
• Preferred: Awareness of open access, digital collections, and linked data trends.
• Ability to convey complex library technologies in clear, customer-centric language.
• Strong comprehension of librarian personas and institutional decision-making processes.
• Strategic mindset focused on securing competitive procurements.
• Meticulous attention to detail and compliance standards.
• Capacity to manage multiple large-scale proposals concurrently.
• Proficient in Loopio, RFPIO, Qvidian, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce or equivalent, as well as library systems and standards documentation, and AI tools.
