Senior Project Manager – Power Generation, HDNU

📋 Description

• Oversee the execution of Simple and Combined Cycle projects within the Heavy Duty Gas Power sector.

• Manage the comprehensive project lifecycle from contract signing to fulfilling contractual obligations.

• Act as the main point of contact for customers on assigned projects.

• Lead customer interactions, negotiations, and issue resolution efforts.

• Align both internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, contractors, and vendors.

• Direct the execution of large, complex, non-turnkey, product/equipment-only, and simpler combined cycle projects from start to finish.

• Collaborate with the ITO Commercial Manager to develop early execution strategies and transition projects into active execution.

• Coordinate contract reviews to ensure alignment on requirements, scope, and obligations.

• Manage project execution based on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost criteria.

• Take ownership of project revenue, contribution margin, cash flow, profit and loss, budgets, and operating plans.

• Mentor teams on project performance metrics and navigate trade-offs concerning cost, schedule, performance, and risk.

• Create and manage risk and opportunity registers that include mitigation actions.

• Advocate for GE Vernova’s Safety Toolkit and prioritize health and safety initiatives.

• Support risk-informed decision-making by utilizing both internal and external insights.

• Develop expertise in project execution and/or technical areas and serve as a subject matter expert.

• Implement best practices to enhance products, processes, or services.

• Lead innovative solutions in complex manufacturing, engineering, and production settings.

• Utilize advanced operational, engineering, and product management techniques across interconnected workstreams.

• Address cross-functional issues and execution challenges in collaboration with partnering functions.

• Manage project teams and resources with varying levels of complexity, risk, and scale.

• Assist Functional Project Managers with escalations as needed.

• Present project, business, or technical solutions to senior leadership effectively.

• Influence stakeholders without direct authority within a matrix organization.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

• At least 7 years of Project Management experience in Energy, Construction, or large capital project environments.

• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites and other locations, up to 30% of the time.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Project Management Professional certification (preferred).

• Experience and a solid understanding of costs and estimates involved in large capital project execution.

• Field experience, Project Management, or equivalent experience.

• Capability to manage multiple phased projects simultaneously and autonomously.

• Strong customer-centric approach and ability to cultivate strong relationships.

• Experience in working with and influencing senior leaders.

• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and business and financial acumen.

• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex information succinctly.

• Ability to make independent decisions, manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment, and interact effectively at all levels of the organization.

• Experience using data and lean tools and technologies to drive strategic, operational, and project efficiencies.
