Senior Project Manager, Mat. Cover

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of assigned client projects, ensuring that delivery aligns with the brief, is timely, budget-conscious, and maintains quality and margin standards.

• Facilitate the initial setup and kick-off of projects.

• Serve as the primary escalation contact for project-related issues and address them proactively.

• Foster relationships with client stakeholders, providing guidance and resolving issues effectively.

• Participate in new business initiatives, including the development and presentation of pitches.

• Manage account resources while ensuring accurate forecasts of team capacity.

• Take responsibility for revenue forecasting, maintaining project data integrity, and escalating risks or changes early to Client Services and Finance.

• Monitor project expenses and profit margins while assisting with billing and invoicing processes.

• Lead, manage, and mentor Project Managers.

• Conduct training sessions to standardize project and workstream methodologies.

• Keep project status reports updated and enforce adherence to schedule, scope, and resource limits.

• Advocate for internal systems and collaborate on key business metrics.

• Utilize AI tools on a daily basis for status reporting, documentation, resource analysis, and quality assurance.

• Assist in integrating AI-enhanced delivery practices throughout the Delivery team.

• Manage projects that involve AI-assisted content creation, ensuring proper quality assurance and human oversight.

• Report to a Project Director and liaise with Operations, Account Directors, Client Group Partners, Client Services, and Project Management teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6 to 8 years of project management experience within a digital, content, or creative agency environment.

• At least 2 years in a Senior Project Manager role or equivalent positions such as Delivery Manager or Project Lead.

• Demonstrated success in delivering projects for global brand clients, particularly in sectors like FMCG, healthcare, or clients of similar scale.

• Hands-on experience with resource management and revenue forecasting.

• Proficient with agency job costing and project management systems, such as Paprika or similar.

• Daily use of AI tools in project delivery, with the ability to recognize how these tools and workflows have evolved.

• Strong commercial insight regarding margins, scope creep, and escalation procedures.

• Exceptional communication abilities.

• Capacity to maintain composure under pressure and effectively manage senior client stakeholders.

• Experience in guiding and developing junior Project Managers.
