Senior Project Manager – Dynamics ERP Implementation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Take full responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of large, intricate projects that align with organizational goals and client business results.

• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, issues, dependencies, change management, and baseline control.

• Define ownership, decision-making rights, communication schedule, project objectives, success metrics, and priority trade-offs in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders.

• Manage risk, issue, and dependency processes with proactive mitigation strategies, clarity on business impacts, and early escalation protocols.

• Implement Hitachi Solutions delivery methodology, stage gates, project health assessments, and standardized delivery practices.

• Administer project budgets exceeding $10M, including forecasting, budget-versus-actual analysis, estimate-at-complete awareness, margin safeguarding, and financial variance measures.

• Identify changes in scope, lead re-estimations, and create and deliver Change Orders.

• Guide or support Steering Committee governance, stage-gate preparedness, executive status updates, decision-making processes, and alignment of value/outcomes.

• Maintain transparent, action-focused communication with customers and internal stakeholders regarding progress, risks, decisions, delivery challenges, and corrective measures.

• Enhance PMO and Delivery Excellence by contributing to process improvements through lessons learned and reusable delivery practices.

• Provide first-line project escalation support, foster accountability, coach on delivery practices, resolve conflicts, and address capability or execution gaps.

• Lead teams through uncertainty, facilitate timely decision-making, balance competing priorities, and reinforce execution discipline.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10+ years in professional services project management, ideally in complex consulting delivery roles that require rapid onboarding and independent execution.

• Demonstrated project management expertise in implementing ERP, CRM, Dynamics 365, and/or broader cloud solutions within a client-facing consulting context.

• Proven track record in managing multi-platform, multi-workstream projects across onshore, offshore, client, and delivery teams.

• Ability to effectively communicate with senior management, business and IT executives, customers, vendors, and internal delivery leadership through clear, concise, action-oriented reporting.

• Strong blend of business insight, commercial judgment, stakeholder leadership, and team leadership, without depending solely on formal authority.

• Practical experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, CPM, Waterfall, hybrid delivery models, and standard governance controls.

• Established success in delivering measurable project outcomes in a consulting setting, including reliable execution, client trust, scope management, and financial discipline.

• Proven experience in leading teams of 20+ consultants across multiple time zones, including offshore personnel.

• At least 5–10 years of ERP implementation experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with consultancy implementation partners.

• Demonstrated proficiency in project controls, including detailed project plans, scope, schedule and budget baselines, actual progress and financial performance tracking, variance analysis, and corrective actions.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).

• PMP certification (preferred).

• Advanced proficiency in Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, and project delivery tools (preferred).

• Expertise in schedule management, critical path analysis, baseline control, forecasting, and project controls.

• Experience with Power BI and KPI-driven delivery management.

• Experience managing project finances, including EACs, margin management, variance analysis, and commercial forecasting.

• Experience in leading executive governance, project health assessments, and stage-gate processes.

• Familiarity with delivering Microsoft cloud, ERP, CRM, or digital transformation initiatives.

• CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or equivalent agile delivery certification (preferred).

• Must be a US citizen or eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
