Senior Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete delivery process for large and intricate projects that align with organizational goals and client business results.

• Oversee project scope, timelines, budgets, quality assurance, risks, issues, dependencies, change management, and baseline control.

• Define ownership, decision-making authority, communication frequency, project objectives, success metrics, and prioritize trade-offs in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders.

• Manage risks, issues, and dependencies through proactive mitigation strategies, action plans to achieve project goals, clarity on business impacts, and timely escalations.

• Implement Hitachi Solutions' delivery methodology, including stage gates, project health assessments, and standardized delivery practices.

• Control project budgets exceeding $10M by conducting forecasting, reviewing budget versus actual expenditures, understanding estimate-at-complete, ensuring margin protection, and addressing financial variances.

• Recognize scope changes, lead re-estimation efforts, and create, estimate, and deliver Change Orders.

• Lead or assist in Steering Committee governance, readiness for stage-gate reviews, executive status updates, decision-making, and alignment of value and outcomes.

• Relay project progress, risks, decisions, delivery hurdles, and corrective measures to clients and internal stakeholders.

• Contribute to the improvement of PMO and Delivery Excellence processes by sharing lessons learned and promoting reusable delivery practices.

• Provide support for project escalations, establish accountability, mentor delivery behaviors, resolve conflicts, and address gaps in capability or execution.

• Guide teams through uncertain situations, facilitate timely decision-making, balance competing priorities, and reinforce a culture of execution discipline.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10+ years of experience in professional services project management.

• Demonstrated project management experience in implementing ERP, CRM, Dynamics 365, or broader cloud solutions in a client-facing consulting capacity.

• Proven background in managing multi-platform and multi-workstream projects involving onshore, offshore, client, and delivery teams.

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with senior management, business and IT executives, customers, vendors, and internal delivery leaders.

• Solid business acumen, commercial judgment, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership capabilities.

• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, CPM, Waterfall, hybrid delivery methods, and standard governance controls.

• Track record of delivering measurable project results in a consulting environment.

• Experience leading teams of over 20 consultants across various time zones, including offshore resources.

• A minimum of 5–10 years of experience in ERP implementation.

• At least 5 years of experience with a consultancy implementation partner.

• Proven expertise in project controls, including project plans, scope, schedule and budget baselines, performance tracking, variance analysis, and corrective actions.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).

• PMP certification (preferred).

• Advanced skills in Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, and project delivery tools.

• Expertise in schedule management, critical path analysis, baseline control, forecasting, and project controls.

• Experience with Power BI and KPI-driven delivery management.

• Familiarity with managing project financials, including EACs, margin management, variance analysis, and commercial forecasting.

• Experience in leading executive governance, project health reviews, and stage-gate processes.

• Background in delivering Microsoft cloud, ERP, CRM, or digital transformation projects.

• CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or equivalent agile delivery certification (preferred).
