This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a portfolio of significant, high-visibility, and potentially high-risk projects related to electrical substations and FACTS.
• Spearhead innovative solutions, projects that include penalties and rewards, and expedited schedules.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for senior customer representatives and internal/external project teams.
• Direct project strategy, planning, resource distribution, execution, and oversight for complex project scopes.
• Guarantee adherence to customer specifications, quality benchmarks, safety regulations, and technical/engineering standards.
• Prepare project budgets and monitor or influence project expenditures.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within the allocated budget.
• Participate in pre-contract scope, schedule, and cost formulation as necessary.
• Facilitate project development, execution, and oversight in collaboration with engineering fields and support functions.
• Mentor Project Specialists, Project Managers, and Engineers to improve their project management expertise.
• Collaborate with providers, subcontractors, and customers to synchronize project specifications and requirements.
• Enforce site safety protocols and ensure strict compliance with quality standards.
• Draft contracts and subcontractor work scopes while managing written contract administration.
• Manage issue resolution via change management and ensure prompt collection of payments.
• Promote the quantification and documentation of project performance with teams and customers following project completion.
• Assess and communicate work-package percentage completion and commitment for financial forecasting estimates at completion.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• At least 8 years of project management experience in electrical substations or related fields.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including potential international trips.
• Compliance with all relevant company travel and tax regulations is required.
• Experience with Synchronous Condensers, STATCOMS, or Fixed Series Capacitors is preferred.
• Previous experience managing high voltage electrical utility projects.
• Proven track record in managing projects or programs that span multiple businesses and/or functions throughout the entire project lifecycle, from development and design to manufacturing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
• Capability to successfully manage external, customer-facing projects.
• Proficiency in applying advanced technical, engineering, and quality assurance concepts to resolve practical business challenges.
• Experience collaborating with global teams and partners.
• Ability to engage with executive-level management in sponsor and customer organizations.
• Skills in applying and coaching managerial and leadership principles and techniques.
• Strong decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and leadership competencies.
• Capacity to coordinate and prioritize multiple long- and short-term projects at once.
• PMI/PMP certification preferred; familiarity with contemporary project management techniques and software systems, including global resource planning systems and Primavera project management software.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of contractual terms and experience managing customer-facing contracts.
• Knowledge of preparing proposals for complex substations, including international projects and quality training.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a drug screening may be required.
