Senior Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the scope and timeline of each project, including managing changes effectively.

• Develop and oversee project budgets and forecasts; proactively identify variances and implement corrective measures to ensure project profitability while maintaining client satisfaction.

• Create both high-level and detailed project schedules.

• Collaborate with client product owners to prioritize backlogs and new requests.

• Foster client relationships and explore opportunities for project expansions and extensions.

• Work in conjunction with internal teams to design, develop, and launch mobile and web applications.

• Identify, manage, and proactively mitigate project risks.

• Utilize AI to develop and maintain project plans, work breakdown structures, milestones, dependencies, release plans, risk registers, assumption registers, issue registers, dependency registers, status reports, decision logs, and change requests.

• Employ AI to analyze delivery data, identify trends, clarify variances, and create actionable reports.

• Construct reusable prompts, templates, and workflows for planning, reporting, and risk assessments.

• Integrate AI-supported workflows with project systems and documentation.

• Utilize approved AI tools and workflows while safeguarding client and company information and ensuring output accuracy and appropriateness.

• Assess new AI tools and workflows for potential implementation.

• Automate relevant processes, such as generating status reports from delivery data and extracting actions from approved meeting notes.

• Identify inaccurate outputs, missing dependencies, unrealistic estimates, and unsupported conclusions.

• Act as the primary contact for external communications with clients and stakeholders.

• Resolve conflicts and eliminate obstacles to project success.

• Support teams in effectively implementing changes.

• Ensure that deliverables meet quality standards at the conclusion of each sprint.

• Cultivate a productive environment where team members take ownership of the product and enjoy their work.

• Seek opportunities for improvement and propose new projects.

• Assist in establishing governance and a functioning PMO.

• Mentor project managers and help develop consistent planning, financial management, reporting, and delivery practices throughout the department.

• Design, deliver, and assess client training on the practical application of AI in project management.

• Start as a Senior Project Manager, with the potential for promotion to Director of Project Management upon demonstrating the required leadership and performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager utilizing Software Development Life Cycle best practices.

• Over 10 years of experience in Portfolio, Project, or Program Management.

• Demonstrated proficiency in using at least one of ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft 365 Copilot to create project plans, risk registers, status reports, and KPI definitions.

• Strong capability in leveraging AI to generate budget forecasts, resource plans, and KPI reporting; verify formulas; and assess AI-generated analyses.

• Comprehensive understanding of Scrum techniques and artifacts, including the definition of done, automated testing, and backlog refinement.

• Solid knowledge of Agile frameworks, waterfall, and iterative project methodologies.

• Experience in managing projects that involve AI, machine learning, data science, or automation.

• Familiarity with the AI/ML development lifecycle, encompassing data preparation, model development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams, including software developers, data engineers, data scientists, and ML engineers.

• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.

• Experience in facilitating client workshops or providing professional training.

• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

• Excellent organizational capabilities.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project and similar software.

• Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.

• Strong organization and time management skills.

• Effective communication and team management skills.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

• Formal Project Management Certification: PMP, Prince2, Agile Certified.

• Preferred: Experience managing projects with a cumulative duration of 10+ man-years.

• Preferred: Experience in a scrum master capacity.

• Preferred: Experience in reporting and visualization using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.

• Preferred: Familiarity with TFS or Azure DevOps.
