This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage and direct technical deliverables for the design, construction, and commissioning of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in collaboration with third-party engineering and EPC firms.
• Assist the EPC Leadership Team in overseeing supplier and contractor relations with equipment vendors and construction companies.
• Collaborate with Transmission, Interconnection, and Market Analysis teams on interconnection agreements and the integration of BESS projects into the U.S. power grid.
• Aid in the creation and distribution of RFQ/RFP packages to EPC contractors and engineering consultants.
• Contribute to the development and issuance of project scopes of work, RFPs, schedules, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and technical contract specifications.
• Participate in meetings with developers, contractors, consultants, and utility firms.
• Travel to project sites before, during, and after construction phases.
• Offer input on permitting and regulatory applications and respond to stakeholder inquiries as needed.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, ideally with a specialization in Power Engineering.
• 5 - 7+ years of experience in project engineering, development, procurement/contracting, and construction management within the power generation, utility, and transmission sectors.
• Experience in the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of high-voltage utility substations, switchyards, and transmission systems.
• Proven experience leading projects from initial feasibility assessments through to late-stage development, design, engineering, and construction.
• Familiarity with real property, permitting, regulatory issues, environmental compliance, interconnection, transmission, and related fields.
• Understanding of market dynamics concerning major equipment, engineering services, construction services, and labor.
• Strong grasp of the battery energy storage value proposition and/or engineering principles related to battery energy storage projects.
• Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Adaptability and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Supportive, resourceful, and eager to take on new challenges.
• Effective, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse, fast-paced, and geographically dispersed team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint, and Excel.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or similar software, including Revu Bluebeam.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, up to approximately 30% annually.
