Senior Program Manager, Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the complete procurement strategy and execution for essential data center equipment across several simultaneous projects.

• Develop and execute LLE/OFCI procurement initiatives that align with construction timelines, client needs, and budget constraints.

• Build strategic partnerships with manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers of data center equipment.

• Collaborate with design teams, MEP engineers, commissioning agents, and construction managers on equipment specifications and integration.

• Oversee technical evaluations of equipment proposals, focusing on capacity, redundancy, efficiency, and total cost of ownership.

• Manage RFI, RFP, and bid evaluation processes, providing procurement recommendations to senior management.

• Negotiate commercial terms, delivery timelines, payment options, and service-level agreements.

• Supervise vendor performance and address quality, delivery, and technical challenges.

• Track multimillion-dollar procurement budgets and prepare financial reports.

• Create integrated procurement schedules for equipment with lead times ranging from 12 to over 52 weeks.

• Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain, manufacturing, specifications, and logistics.

• Coordinate international logistics, including factory inspections, shipping, customs clearance, and on-site delivery.

• Maintain systems for tracking equipment, submittal logs, and procurement documentation.

• Assist with equipment commissioning and startup processes.

• Monitor warranties, service agreements, and spare parts procurement.

• Act as the subject-matter expert for LLE/OFCI and primary contact point.

• Facilitate cross-functional coordination meetings and provide mentorship to junior team members.

• Deliver executive-level reports on procurement, budget, risk, and program outcomes to clients and JLL leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.

• 7-10 years of increasing responsibility in data center construction, mission-critical equipment procurement, or data center project management roles.

• Proven expertise in data center mechanical and electrical systems, including power distribution, cooling infrastructure, and fire suppression systems.

• Demonstrated success in managing equipment procurement for data center projects valued at $100M+, with total equipment packages exceeding $20M.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools like Procore or e-Builder, and procurement/ERP systems.

• Outstanding organizational and program management abilities.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate technical specifications, assess financial proposals, and perform cost-benefit analyses.

• Thorough understanding of data center project delivery methodologies, construction sequencing, and the interdependencies of procurement and construction schedules.
