This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.
• Take ownership of delivery workstreams for federal projects within FedRAMP-authorized cloud environments, DoD Impact Level 4 and 5 enclaves, and fully disconnected networks.
• Independently deliver the defined scope of the Statement of Work and fulfill the agreed-upon engagement deliverables.
• Install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot, and optimize GitLab reference architectures in cloud, on-premises, and air-gapped environments.
• Execute GitLab installations and upgrades in disconnected networks utilizing offline package management, container registry mirroring, and dependency staging.
• Configure GitLab in accordance with agency security standards, encompassing DISA STIG hardening, FIPS-compliant deployments, and SAML or PIV/CAC-backed authentication.
• Develop and implement migration strategies from Bitbucket, GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, and legacy version control systems to GitLab Self-Managed or GitLab Dedicated for Government.
• Act as the main technical liaison for agency engineering and security teams.
• Conduct workshops and enablement sessions for government developers, platform teams, and information system security officers.
• Convert agency compliance needs into GitLab configurations and assist in authorization efforts with technical artifacts and evidence.
• Create documentation for implementations, establish reusable runbooks and automation, identify scope changes and risks, support Associate engineers, enhance Professional Services delivery practices, and communicate federal compliance gaps to Product and Engineering.
• Proven experience delivering infrastructure or platform work in a customer-facing or consulting capacity, with the capability to work independently across multiple concurrent engagements.
• An active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
• Must be able to work in the Washington, DC metropolitan area; this role is exclusively available to candidates located in the DC Metro area.
• Hands-on familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, or Chef.
• Experience with major cloud service providers, including knowledge of Amazon Web Services GovCloud, Azure Government, or Google Assured Workloads.
• Demonstrated expertise in deploying and managing GitLab, including continuous integration and continuous delivery, container registry, and Premium or Ultimate features.
• Production-level experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Delivery experience in a regulated or accredited environment, such as federal, DoD, state, defense industrial base, financial services, or healthcare settings.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53 or 800-171, CMMC, or DISA STIGs.
• Understanding of how Authority to Operate timelines and change control impact delivery.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with diverse technical audiences.
• Previous experience in GitLab Professional Services, federal systems integration, or agency delivery.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Go.
• Experience with GitLab Dedicated for Government or another FedRAMP-authorized software-as-a-service environment.
