This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Spearhead the strategic development of the supply network and oversee cost management for Anduril’s Counter Intrusion product line throughout its entire lifecycle.
• Collaborate with suppliers as well as cross-functional teams, including those in engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing.
• Execute supplier selection for particular products utilizing the approved supplier list.
• Partner with key suppliers on conceptual scoping, feature trade-offs, should-cost/clean-sheet models, joint design development, and mechanical/electronics design simulations.
• Lead the development and consolidation of manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs) alongside Quality and Manufacturing teams.
• Facilitate internal and supplier production ramp-up with a high degree of flexibility.
• Oversee capital expenditures (CAPEX) throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase.
• Conduct value-stream mapping to enhance supply network lead time and flexibility.
• Complete BOM risk assessments and pursue alternate component sourcing.
• Ensure that all component qualifications are finalized prior to production commencement.
• Streamline commonality and rationalize components and suppliers to minimize complexity.
• Direct cost engineering initiatives to align bottoms-up cost estimates with product cost and optimize total cost of ownership.
• Address ad-hoc cost concerns such as tariffs, import/export expenses, and cost inflation.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 6 years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or the design of electronic and/or mechanical devices.
• Expertise in value/procurement engineering or total cost of ownership (TCO) related activities at both the component and product levels.
• Willingness to travel 30% to 40% of the time, depending on program requirements.
• Preference for candidates to be onsite at an Anduril office; however, remote work is an option for those in California.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance.
• Preferred: Master’s degree or an advanced technical degree in mechanical engineering.
• Preferred: Extensive experience in the design and development of electronic and/or mechanical devices.
• Preferred: Advanced experience in sourcing activities, particularly as commodity or sourcing managers.
• Preferred: Supplier development experience in technology, processes, or supply chains.
• Preferred: Early supplier engagement prior to the realization of product or engineering requirements.
• Preferred: Familiarity with the development of high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.
• Preferred: Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up setting.
