This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take ownership of the backlog, specifications, sprint ceremonies, and release responsibilities for a dedicated Agile software team.
• Convert hardware and business requirements into software specifications, initiatives, epics, stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate software delivery timelines across application, driver, firmware, and DSP disciplines to achieve hardware milestones.
• Manage bug triage, defect prioritization, release decisions, release plans, release notes, known-issues lists, compatibility matrices, and documentation handoffs.
• Maintain prioritization techniques, define analytics events and reporting, analyze adoption metrics, and collaborate with the Data team.
• Draft product requirements that encompass hardware, mechanical, electrical, and audio specifications, connectivity, driver support, software behavior, packaging, and documentation.
• Monitor component lifecycle and last-time-buy exposure, pursue cost-reduction opportunities, plan transitions, and manage silicon, driver, technology, and manufacturing partners.
• Conduct customer research and oversee improvements in activation and onboarding processes.
• Collaborate with commercial, marketing, sales, and operations teams on SKU structure, pricing, bundling, launch readiness, channel and inventory planning, and EOL execution.
• Proven experience as a Product Owner on a scrum team, including ownership of a backlog, writing user stories, facilitating ceremonies, and being accountable for releases.
• Technical expertise with operating-system-level device drivers, firmware, installers, software deployment, high-speed connectivity (USB, Thunderbolt, networked audio), and licensing or entitlement systems.
• Practical skills to install nightly builds, replicate bugs, interpret installer logs, and conduct test passes.
• Exceptional written communication skills and precise specification-writing capabilities.
• Proficient in Jira and Confluence or similar tools, including the creation of plans, filters, dashboards, and reporting.
• Demonstrated decision-making ability and schedule management in ambiguous, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Understanding of music production and audio recording; experience as a musician, engineer, or producer who utilizes this type of product.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, including attending trade shows and visiting manufacturing partners.
• Over 5 years of product management experience in delivering consumer or professional hardware and the software that supports it.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: experience with platform or driver architecture migration; analytics instrumentation; managing overseas contract manufacturers through DVT and mass production; go-to-market, retail, or e-commerce experience.
