This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the end-to-end new product development process for the grocery retail and CPG sectors, starting from customer discussions through to concept creation, validation, MVP, and launch.
• Conduct ongoing discovery sessions with retailers, CPG brands, category managers, and merchandisers.
• Establish lean, testable MVPs, draft requirements, and release initial versions to actual customers.
• Convert WISEcode’s food data assets, scoring systems, and ingredient intelligence into widely accepted product experiences.
• Lead pilot initiatives with early retail and CPG partners and transform these pilots into scalable products.
• Develop concept briefs, specifications, user stories, decision logs, and other necessary product documentation.
• Collaborate with Science, Data, and Engineering teams; facilitate agile ceremonies and make prioritization decisions.
• Define success metrics and acceptance criteria, including evaluations for AI/LLM-driven features.
• Assist with demos, RFP responses, and follow-up communication with potential grocery and CPG customers.
• Within the first 90 days, complete customer discovery, define and present a zero-to-one product concept, and kick off a partner pilot.
• Minimum of 6 years in product management, with a proven track record of shipping software products as the PM of record.
• Required experience in developing software products specifically for the grocery retail or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
• Comprehensive understanding of the operations of retailers, distributors, and brands, including category management, merchandising, private label, retail media, or brand analytics.
• Proven experience in taking at least one product from concept to initial release and generating first revenue.
• Strong skills in customer discovery, including structured interviews and validating customer willingness to pay.
• Technical fluency with data, APIs, and AI/LLM-based systems.
• Ability to scope realistically with engineering teams and critically evaluate build plans without writing production code.
• Capability to align scientists, engineers, executives, and external partners while driving decisions without formal authority.
• Outstanding written and facilitation skills, including the creation of concept briefs, specifications, and updates.
• A sense of curiosity and strong scientific literacy.
• A background or genuine interest in food, nutrition, or health data is a plus.
