Senior Product Management Specialist – Fire Portfolio Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and implement the strategic roadmap for Honeywell's Fire portfolio in Canada.

• Act as the Canadian business leader for the Fire ULC-certified product range.

• Identify gaps in the portfolio, market opportunities, competitive challenges, and upcoming customer needs.

• Collaborate with global and Americas Offering Management teams to advocate for Canadian market needs in future product development strategies.

• Shape product roadmap priorities and formulate business cases advocating for localization, certification, feature improvements, and market-specific offerings.

• Represent Honeywell Canada with regulatory and certification entities such as ULC, FM, and other relevant organizations.

• Stay updated on changing codes, standards, regulations, and certification requirements, and devise compliance strategies.

• Work alongside engineering, quality, and certification teams for certifications, product enhancements, and compliance initiatives.

• Serve as a representative for Honeywell with CFAA, CANASA, and other industry associations, fostering relationships with industry stakeholders.

• Function as a spokesperson and subject matter expert on Canadian fire trends, regulations, and technological advancements.

• Conduct market and competitive assessments and formulate strategic recommendations.

• Assist in annual operating plans, growth strategies, new product introductions, and long-term portfolio planning.

• Supply market insights to Sales leadership.

• Engage with customers, consultants, distributors, engineers, and end users to collect feedback and pinpoint unmet needs.

• Support significant project pursuits requiring product expertise, regulatory guidance, or roadmap alignment.

• Convert customer and market demands into product and business recommendations while driving Voice of Customer initiatives.

• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams on commercialization, launch strategies, training materials, positioning, and sales support.

• Advocate for connected fire, CLSS, self-test technologies, Inspire, and future innovations.

• Ensure that sales and channel organizations can effectively market and sell the Fire portfolio.

• Work together with global engineering, offering management, quality, manufacturing, and sales teams.

• Lead cross-functional projects that promote portfolio expansion, compliance, and growth.

• Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to the Fire Enterprise leadership and Americas Offering Management.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in the fire alarm, fire protection, life safety industry, or building automation technologies.

• At least 2 years of significant experience with Canadian fire codes, ULC standards, certification processes, and regulatory frameworks.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in product management, offering management, application engineering, technical sales support, or fire systems design.

• Completed post-secondary education in a related technical discipline.

• Availability for travel: Up to 20% within Canada and occasionally within North America.

• Strong presentation and executive communication skills.

• Proven ability to influence stakeholders in a matrix organization.

• Excellent strategic thinking, business planning, and communication abilities.

• Capability to build credibility with customers, regulators, consultants, and industry leaders.

• Strong understanding of commercial fire systems, detection technologies, notification products, software platforms, and connected solutions.

• Experience in a global organization.

• Familiarity with product certification and regulatory compliance processes.

• Knowledge of connected fire technologies, cloud solutions, and digital service offerings.

• Established network within the Canadian fire ecosystem.

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Fire Protection, or a related field is preferred.

• CFAA certification, CET designation, P.Eng., or equivalent industry credentials are desirable.

• Bilingual proficiency in French and English is an asset.
