Senior Product Engineer, Platform & Portals

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the core development of the HiveRx platform tailored for regulated compounding pharmacy environments.

• Contribute to the development of the core platform as well as the patient and prescriber portals.

• Create full-stack features utilizing Laravel, Vue, Inertia, Tailwind, and the existing platform architecture.

• Ensure that platform and portal development progress without delays caused by single-person dependencies.

• Uphold architectural consistency across both internal and external product interfaces.

• Engage in QA, release planning, and post-release validation processes.

• Convert business requirements, portal concepts, and regulatory needs into actionable implementation plans.

• Investigate workflows, compliance constraints, integration behaviors, and user experience requirements.

• Enhance technical specifications and identify shortcomings in handoffs, acceptance criteria, dependencies, or release planning.

• Collaborate directly with stakeholders to clarify requirements.

• Support features that encompass pharmacy workflows, compliance-intensive operations, ERP-related necessities, and business-system integration.

• Develop secure, polished, and operationally sound workflows for patient and prescriber portals.

• Evaluate the impact of internal workflow modifications on external users, data, reporting, and operational queues.

• Contribute to technical, user-facing, and compliance-centered documentation.

• Sustain product momentum while avoiding the introduction of long-term complexities.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in software engineering, product engineering, or a similar technical role.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software applications.

• Demonstrated capability to lead technical projects, tackle complex engineering challenges, and deliver high-quality outcomes.

• Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an Agile or similar development setting.

• Strong expertise in the programming languages, frameworks, and technologies essential for this role.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Proficient in PHP and Laravel; ability to read, debug, and write production code within a real codebase.

• Familiarity with Vue 3, Inertia.js, Tailwind CSS, and Vite-based frontend tools.

• Capable of navigating between backend services, frontend workflows, database states, integrations, and release validation.

• Experience in or developing software for regulated industries, preferably within healthcare.

• Knowledge of compliance aspects influencing software design, including audit trails, data integrity, access control, PHI, and change documentation.

• Comfortable utilizing AI tools for research, code review, implementation assistance, and documentation purposes.

• Ability to critically assess AI-generated code and documentation.

• Strong technical writing abilities.

• Effective communication skills with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

• Senior ownership mentality, practical execution, ability to switch contexts, and sound judgment.

• Capability to sit for extended durations.

• Proficient communication via telephone and email.

• Ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds and move, lift, or carry boxes.

• Fine motor skills and good visual acuity.
