Senior Product Engineer, Mobile

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of features across iOS, Android, and backend, from conception to launch.

• Develop consumer product features, such as avatars and innovative interaction methods for users of Replika.

• Create monetization features, including paywalls, promotional offers, and pricing experiments in collaboration with the growth team.

• Transform vague concepts into well-defined product features.

• Challenge specifications that lack robustness and advocate for more effective alternatives.

• Collaborate directly with the CEO, product manager, designer, and engineering lead within a compact team.

• Foster collaboration throughout the team by facilitating communication, removing obstacles for others, and preventing silos.

• Contribute to an AI companion product aimed at helping users thrive and enhance human connections.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Proven experience in building and launching consumer mobile applications that have reached actual users.

• Proficient in one platform: either Swift for iOS or Kotlin for Android.

• Experience in shipping features on the alternate mobile platform.

• Background in backend development.

• Familiarity with API design.

• A history of successfully driving complex features from inception to completion.

• Passion for coding and proactive engineering, leveraging available tools to accelerate progress.

• Strong design intuition and aesthetic judgment.

• Proficiency in English.

• Bonus: Experience as a founding engineer or with early-stage product development from the ground up.

• Bonus: Backend expertise in Python with FastAPI or any JVM language, including Scala.

• Bonus: Experience with in-app purchases and subscriptions on the App Store and Google Play.

• Bonus: Knowledge of real-time features such as chat, voice, and animation.

• Bonus: Experience in delivering consumer products that have had a significant user impact.
