Senior Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance CHG’s technology infrastructure for both client-facing digital interactions and internal business systems.

• Take ownership of features spanning the front end, back end, APIs, business logic, and data layers from conception to production and ongoing enhancement.

• Create system integrations across various brands, applications, Salesforce, NetSuite, and other enterprise tools.

• Manage client, employee, and financial information with a focus on security, privacy, and compliance.

• Translate ambiguous requirements into clear technical plans and actionable work units for both humans and AI agents.

• Employ AI agents for tasks such as research, prototyping, implementation, testing, refactoring, and documentation.

• Contribute to architectural decisions, technology selections, and scalable development methodologies.

• Establish and enhance AI development practices, tools, and workflows.

• Elevate codebase quality through testing, monitoring, documentation, and scalable architectural patterns.

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to clarify requirements and discuss trade-offs.

• Engage in code reviews, pairing, onboarding, and mentorship activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering production software for Senior level, or 9 years with cross-system architecture ownership for Staff level.

• Proficiency with relational data, including SQL, schema design, transactions, and migrations.

• Familiarity with modern data platforms, warehouses, pipelines, and data integration techniques.

• Experience in testing, accessibility, input validation, authentication and authorization, and awareness of common web security vulnerabilities.

• Demonstrated experience using AI agents for genuine multi-step tasks.

• Capability to write clear specifications, define task scopes, provide context to AI agents, and validate their outputs.

• A product engineering perspective focused on problem definition and sustainable solutions.

• Skill in making informed technical decisions and articulating choices, risks, and trade-offs.

• Experience in contributing to technical planning, code reviews, pairing, and mentoring efforts.

• Experience in leading technical projects beyond individual tickets, including project scoping and guiding engineers.

• For Staff level: architecture ownership across multiple systems is required.

• An eagerness to explore rapidly evolving tools and practices.

• Bonus: Experience in shipping LLM-backed features to production.

• Bonus: Proficiency in extending AI development environments with MCP servers, repository instructions, reusable skills, custom workflows, or automated code review.

• Bonus: Familiarity with Salesforce, NetSuite, or HRIS platforms.

• Bonus: Experience with event-driven systems or reverse ETL pipelines.

• Bonus: Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platforms and infrastructure as code.

• Bonus: Experience in establishing systems, standards, or engineering practices from an early stage.
