This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +13 more states.
• Establish interaction and visual design standards for our mobile applications.
• Create user-focused experiences that reconcile user needs with business objectives, ensuring scalability and global applicability.
• Take ownership of and enhance our mobile design system.
• Contribute an international design viewpoint within our product organization.
• Collaborate closely with our research team to carry out and interpret user research.
• Partner with various teams across Kickstarter as the company aims to develop a mature ecosystem that supports our community of Creators and Backers.
• Work together with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment where necessary.
• You possess substantial professional experience leading design for mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
• Your portfolio demonstrates a successful history of crafting thoughtful, engaging, and highly usable mobile experiences.
• You are well-versed in platform-specific design patterns and conventions for both iOS and Android.
• You have experience in designing experiences for consumers in North America, Europe, and Asia.
• You are knowledgeable about designing with international privacy laws and regulations in consideration.
• You have experience designing for commerce-oriented companies with international checkout processes.
• You are an outstanding communicator.
• You can consistently articulate, justify, and support your design decisions to peers and stakeholders, while also thoroughly understanding their feedback.
• You excel in information architecture, interaction design, and visual design.
• You are adept at using both formal and informal methods to solicit and provide feedback.
• You have familiarity with design tools like Figma and are comfortable with prototyping.
• You empathize with our Creator and Backer communities and appreciate how both play a role in Kickstarter’s ecosystem.
• You understand the complexities of the creative process and bringing projects to fruition.
