Senior Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Transform intricate hiring challenges into straightforward and thoughtful experiences for both talent teams and candidates.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and fellow Designers from initial exploration through to delivery.

• Lead significant and complex design challenges from the exploration phase to delivered experiences.

• Empower Product Managers and Engineers to tackle simpler tasks through the SZ Design System, clear principles, AI tools, and coaching.

• Collect user insights via discussions, product data, and lightweight testing.

• Balance user benefits, business objectives, and technical feasibility.

• Leverage AI to expedite research, prototyping, and implementation processes.

• Critically assess AI outputs and incorporate effective methods into shared tools.

• Connect comprehensive journeys across teams and enhance common patterns within the SZ Design System.

• Question assumptions alongside Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Occupational Psychology teams.

• Design understandable AI experiences that clarify capabilities, limitations, and next steps while ensuring users remain in control.

• Collaborate with Engineers during implementation, verify shipped products, and utilize feedback and product data to enhance usability and value.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven history of delivering complex, web-based SaaS experiences efficiently, with examples of decisions made in uncertain conditions and improvements post-launch.

• Exceptional UX and visual design skills, including creating intuitive and accessible interfaces that simplify intricate workflows.

• Strong product judgment in startup or scale-up environments.

• Experience utilizing qualitative research and product data to make informed decisions and select appropriate discovery methods.

• Close collaboration with Product Managers and Engineers, integrating product thinking with technical insights.

• Familiarity with AI coding or prototyping tools such as Claude Code, Claude Design, or Lovable, including applying design-system guidance within their context.

• Practical experience using AI to enhance design or delivery, with a critical evaluation of its outputs and the application of personal judgment.

• Experience enabling Product Managers or Engineers to independently create effective designs through reusable patterns, clear guidance, and coaching.

• Ability to excel in ambiguity and design at the intersection of skills science and enterprise needs.

• Curiosity, resourcefulness, and adaptability; able to work autonomously, oscillate between strategy and detail, clearly articulate decisions, identify risks, and advocate for users.

• Preferred experience in designing AI-powered products, particularly agents or assistants.

• Strong skills in Figma and practical experience using a design system are preferred.

• Preferred experience in HR tech, recruitment, or enterprise products.

• Experience in enhancing consistency across product teams or evolving an established product alongside new capabilities is preferred.
