📋 Description

• Advocate for both existing and emerging technologies while providing training on these tools within designated markets.

• Create, organize, and author local news content for various stations throughout Scripps' media markets.

• Collaborate closely with local station news leadership and key personnel to curate timely information for each segment of the day.

• Produce engaging content that aligns with Scripps' content strategy.

• Evaluate workflows and introduce modifications that enhance productivity and efficiency.

• Make prompt, time-sensitive decisions independently while ensuring clear communication.

• Serve as a representative of Scripps Content Strategy.

• Supervise news coverage and make immediate editorial choices.

• Develop content in innovative and distinctive ways.

• Oversee and assist in content creation and distribution.

• Monitor and manage content streams continuously across various timeframes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A BS/BA in a relevant field is preferred or equivalent professional experience.

• Typically, 6+ years of experience as a television news producer is desired.

• Familiarity with current local news and the ability to quickly become knowledgeable about news in Scripps markets.

• Exceptional time management and prioritization skills; highly organized and driven by deadlines.

• Capability to establish relationships rapidly, communicate effectively, and influence others without direct authority.

• Proficiency with editing software used in a newsroom setting.

• Strong critical thinking abilities and adaptability in high-pressure situations.

• Capacity to make autonomous decisions.

• A creative mindset and eagerness to explore new news production styles.

• Ability to think strategically and holistically.

• Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and experiment with new technologies.
