Senior Principal Supplier Management Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and analyze schedules from suppliers and subcontractors while evaluating their effects on program timelines and milestones.

• Manage comprehensive master schedules, identifying schedule risks and potential opportunities.

• Create and oversee the SMT RAIL/action-item tracker for actions related to suppliers, subcontractors, and internal tasks.

• Supervise supplier performance, manage open orders, and monitor delivery and dock dates.

• Establish and refine material strategies to ensure timely delivery.

• Plan, define, establish, communicate, monitor, and control the scope of subcontractor responsibilities.

• Evaluate changes across technical, cost, schedule, and quality parameters, while developing alternative solutions.

• Collaborate with technical and programmatic stakeholders to develop NGMS Statements of Work.

• Ensure adherence to subcontract scope and manage changes via control board activities.

• Identify, evaluate, manage, and communicate subcontract risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

• Assist the Program and Supplier Management Team Lead by providing technical content for RFIs, RFPs, and related requests.

• Review and approve technical deliverables from subcontractors with guidance from cross-functional subject matter experts (SMEs).

• Prepare briefings for executive audiences and develop mechanisms for project monitoring, intervention, and problem-solving.

• Create and review Supplier Statements of Work.

• Support supplier proposal responses, conduct technical evaluations, and review Basis of Estimates, proposal quality, and related documents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain, program management, business management, or a related field; Master's degree with at least 6 years of experience in these areas; or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting U.S. Government contracts and/or managing large supplier portfolios in other industries.

• At least 3 years of financial experience using Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) or similar cost and schedule management systems.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience managing a program effort or major subcontract in a supply chain, SMT, or program/project management capacity.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Preferred: Experience in providing strategic direction for Program Management or Supply Chain products, processes, applications, and technology.

• Preferred: Background in Supplier Management within U.S. Government contracts.

• Preferred: Experience with the technical evaluation of supplier proposals and subsequent contract negotiations.

• Preferred: Experience in managing technical risks and opportunities.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) or experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM).
