This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Lead essential projects and coordinate efforts within the Aviation Intelligence department.
• Manage and enhance AWS infrastructure that supports data platforms, machine learning training, and analytics workloads.
• Design, implement, and sustain EKS-based services and Kubernetes workloads.
• Develop and oversee Terraform infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments.
• Create and uphold CI/CD pipelines for both infrastructure and application deployment.
• Operate and enhance Kafka/Redpanda clusters.
• Increase the reliability, observability, and performance of prediction services.
• Assist with Dagster for orchestrating data workflows.
• Collaborate with Data Science, ML Engineering, and Data Engineering teams to productionize models and data pipelines.
• Strengthen AWS IAM, networking, and the connectivity between cloud and on-premises systems.
• Support cybersecurity hardening initiatives with the RTX cyber team.
• Identify and progressively enhance existing infrastructure and deployment patterns.
• Collaborate with Ascentia and FlightAware teams on AI/ML projects, data science, and data management.
• Generally requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Extensive experience with AWS, including EKS, IAM, VPCs, and networking.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for operating production workloads.
• Experience managing Kafka or Redpanda in production settings.
• Proficient in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and scaling.
• Familiarity with supporting production data pipelines or machine learning systems.
• Experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Thanos.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for company immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
