This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Define and take ownership of the control system architecture across PLC, IPC-based systems, SCADA, BMS, EPMS, and MES platforms.
• Lead the development and implementation of PLC and IPC-based control systems.
• Design and deploy SCADA and HMI systems.
• Create structured, modular, and reusable control logic adhering to IEC 61131-3 standards.
• Develop comprehensive control system documentation, including FDS, SOO, I/O lists, Cause & Effect matrices, Alarm matrices, and interface definitions.
• Generate and review electrical schematics, control diagrams, and BOMs.
• Define control logic, sensor integration strategies, and communication protocols.
• Integrate control systems with BMS, EPMS, SCADA, MES, and cloud-based platforms.
• Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing.
• Provide support for commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization in operational settings.
• Design and support systems for UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, liquid cooling systems, CRAC/CRAH units, and fire protection systems.
• Establish design standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex control system challenges.
• Drive the development and validation of system-level simulations and digital twin models.
• Assess emerging automation technologies and trends.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and facilities teams.
• Align control system designs with business requirements, timelines, and operational constraints.
• Facilitate technical reviews, workshops, and planning sessions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of experience in control system design and implementation.
• Profound expertise in PLC/IPC programming with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, or Beckhoff.
• Experience in SCADA/HMI development across various platforms.
• Familiarity with BMS integration and optimization.
• Knowledge of EPMS systems for real-time energy monitoring and analytics.
• Proficient in industrial communication protocols including Modbus, BACnet, OPC UA, and Ethernet/IP.
• Understanding of NFPA, IEC, and ISO standards related to control systems and safety.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Capability to work independently within a global team.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to interpret technical documents, standards, and regulations.
• Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural guides.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and mentor engineering teams.
• Understanding of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems.
• Familiarity with PLM/design tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD, Windchill, and SolidWorks is a plus.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices is a plus.
• A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Experience in hyperscale or colocation data center environments is preferred.
• Experience with digital twin technologies and predictive maintenance strategies is preferred.
