This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee Components Engineering and Applications Engineering functions supporting airborne, ground, and tactical platforms/programs throughout the proposal, LRIP, production, and support phases.

• Assist in the creation and implementation of program Parts Management Plans and parts procurement strategies.

• Validate and verify program parts lists for selection, standardization, documentation, and compliance with qualification standards.

• Establish component environmental, characteristic, and circuit application requirements based on program specifications and SOWs.

• Offer guidance on technology insertion and parts selection/standardization.

• Create and update component drawings along with associated verification data packages.

• Assess electronic component and assembly reliability and construction data for PMCB review and adjudication.

• Conduct alternate part investigations and develop comparison matrices.

• Collaborate with designers, suppliers, SCM, POL, PDE, ECAD, PMO, internal stakeholders, and external manufacturers.

• Formulate component risk assessments and verification delineations.

• Coordinate and produce program BOMs using collaborative toolsets.

• Present findings on component standardization, design library, obsolescence management, and termination finish risk during program design reviews.

• Facilitate component approvals through Parts and Materials Control Boards.

• Assist in determining root causes and corrective actions for device/subassembly component-related failures.

• Occasionally travel to integration sites, customer locations, and subcontractor facilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

• At least 10 years of relevant experience.

• Proficient in all major electrical component commodities, including integrated circuits, semiconductors, passive, and RF devices.

• Familiarity with component selection, screening, qualification, and derating specifically for military and aerospace flight applications.

• Understanding of Military component drawings, standards, test specifications, and associated Qualified Manufacturers and Product Lists.

• Experience in developing component drawings and identifying part applications to fulfill program/project objectives and requirements.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Ability to obtain and sustain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

• An active and existing DoD Secret security clearance is required from day one.

• A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related science/engineering discipline is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project or task management is preferred.

• Experience with root cause corrective action (RCCA) is preferred.

• Familiarity with component reliability process monitors and/or qualification methodologies is preferred.

• Knowledge of circuit card and PWB manufacturing processes is preferred.

• Understanding of component failure modes by commodity is preferred.

• Experience in BOM development and management for both developmental and production programs is preferred.

• Experience using or adapting Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products for military systems is preferred.

• Experience with interconnect devices is preferred.

• Experience with counterfeit part mitigation, including collaboration with Non-Franchised Distributors (NFDs), is preferred.
