📋 Description

• Identify, frame, validate, and prioritize AI opportunities with the potential for substantial enterprise revenue and margin enhancement.

• Provide guidance to company leadership on which opportunities to pursue, the approach to take, and what initiatives to initiate, accelerate, or discontinue.

• Collaborate with enterprise, SBU, finance, operations, clinical, and pharmacy leaders to pinpoint high-value business challenges.

• Articulate opportunities in terms of the customers or clinicians involved, value, risk, success criteria, and required investments.

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative user and market research to confirm opportunities.

• Differentiate problems where AI presents non-linear advantages and break down leverage points using first principles.

• Translate the challenges faced by the enterprise and SBU into quantifiable financial, outcome, and experiential opportunities.

• Advise on whether to proceed, sequence, partner, or halt initiatives.

• Prioritize opportunities based on strategic alignment, value, feasibility, risk, cost, and speed to realization.

• Create business cases, investment theses, value realization models, and roadmaps.

• Evaluate buy, build, partner, and hybrid strategies while identifying redundant investments.

• Investigate venture investment, incubation, and M&A avenues with relevant colleagues.

• Establish success metrics and measurement tools prior to staffing work.

• Review the AI portfolio and retire or reframe projects that are not yielding further investment.

• Set up stage-gates and evidence expectations for concept, pilot, and broader adoption decisions.

• Identify necessary workflow, operating model, and organizational changes for value realization.

• Utilize live-work outcomes to refine future enterprise funding choices.

• Collaborate with DD&AI program and technology teams on portfolio tracking and value reporting.

• Ensure recommendations align with clinical realities, regulatory considerations, and member or provider impacts.

• Partner with legal, compliance, privacy, information security, governance, and model risk management teams.

• Implement Responsible AI principles such as transparency, fairness, privacy, reliability, human oversight, and accountability.

• Advise on where AI should automate, assist, recommend, or escalate, while designating accountable individuals.

• Provide guidance to business, clinical, product, and operations leaders using thorough analyses and data.

• Present recommendations through business narratives, decision frameworks, and financial or outcome models.

• Align stakeholders with competing priorities and varying levels of AI fluency.

• Represent AI Strategy in intake, planning, and investment discussions.

• Mentor colleagues on the quality of problem framing.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Information Systems, or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Typically requires 8+ years of experience in strategy, product strategy, management consulting, business operations, finance, digital transformation, or a related area within a large or regulated enterprise.

• Proven experience in framing business challenges, drafting investment cases, and assisting leaders in making funding, sequencing, or cessation decisions.

• Capability to assess value, adoption risk, implementation complexity, and total cost of ownership at a decision-quality level, in collaboration with technology counterparts.

• Working knowledge of current AI capabilities and limitations.

• Understanding of what is necessary to develop exceptional products, including an appreciation of user needs and experience expectations.

• Experience operating in a matrix with competing stakeholders and incomplete information.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with senior business leaders, with the ability to provide recommendations.

• Reliable broadband or fiber optic internet service with a minimum of 10 Mbps download/5 Mbps upload when working remotely.

• A Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.

• Preferred experience in healthcare payer, provider, pharmacy, clinical, benefits, or healthcare services.

• Familiarity with clinical workflows, claims, utilization management, prior authorization, care management, provider operations, or member engagement is preferred.

• Deep expertise in leveraging AI to address problems at their root cause is preferred.

• Experience with Responsible AI, privacy, or regulatory matters is preferred.

• Innovation or digital portfolio management/advisory experience is preferred.

• Experience collaborating with product, technology, and delivery teams without direct ownership of their work is preferred.
