This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead and take ownership of intricate root-cause analyses that have a considerable impact on specific customers or fleet performance.

• Manage the comprehensive process from identifying the problem and gathering data to validating root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

• Facilitate collaborative problem-solving and corrective measures across product lines, service centers, manufacturing, sourcing, field operations, and design engineering.

• Relay updates on issue resolution, technical insights, risk evaluations, and corrective actions to field engineers, executive leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders.

• Develop investigation strategies and assist in forming hypotheses.

• Validate analytical findings and field evidence.

• Guide engineers in best practices for engineering reviews (ER) and root-cause analysis (RCA) workstreams.

• Create and maintain documentation for Design Practices, Standard Work, and Lessons Learned.

• Promote continuous improvement and embed technical knowledge within the organization.

• Assist customers in resolving issues related to vibration, power train dynamics, and operability that affect gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators.

• Propel data- and model-driven solutions and enhance fleet-wide reliability.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM discipline from an accredited college or university.

• At least 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a controls-related role.

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in vibration and diagnostics.

• Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (10–20%).

• Availability to provide off-hours and weekend support for emergency issue resolution.

• Demonstrated experience in leading structured problem-solving methodologies for complex mechanical and system challenges.

• Expertise in RCA methodologies and tools, including 8D, Mind Mapping, and Gantt charts.

• Extensive experience in troubleshooting and investigating rotating machinery and power train systems.

• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, oral, and written communication skills.

• Experience in direct interaction with customers.

• Project management abilities, including planning, prioritizing, and executing multi-threaded RCA investigations.

• Familiarity with vibration data collection, data acquisition systems (DAQ), preferably ADRE 408, instrumentation, and testing methods.

• Experience with numerical methods, basic finite element analysis, and rotordynamic calculations.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, as applicable.
