This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Assess, compare, and make recommendations regarding open-source or licensed power flow engines.
• Integrate and manage the chosen power flow engine within the product.
• Develop and sustain a digital twin of the grid's capacity.
• Specify data requirements for network, asset, AMI, SCADA, and forecasts while addressing data gaps.
• Create repeatable utility integrations from CIM, GIS, vendor, SCADA, and AMI sources.
• Incorporate meter–transformer–phase confidence and SCADA calibration into the twin.
• Establish scenario capabilities for baseline, future, flexibility, contingency, and switching cases.
• Transform load, DER, EV, electrification, and large-load forecasts into study-ready 8760 P/Q and phase cases.
• Engineer production-scale 8760 and time-series execution.
• Develop real loading models using AMI-derived demand reconciled with SCADA data.
• Create interconnection study workflows for new loads and DER.
• Model substantial loads, data centers, phased energization, onsite generation, storage, and UPS.
• Construct firm, phased, conditional, and flexible interconnection options.
• Design repair or alternative connection paths for failed cases.
• Oversee technical design, performance, failure management, and observability.
• Develop QA and regression suites and verify results against planning tools and field data.
• Execute rapid proofs of concept on utility data and transition successful methods into production.
• Lead pilot programs and proof-of-value technical validation, defending results to utility planners and engineers.
• Collaborate with Product, the GM, Grid, and Data Science teams on customer evidence.
• BTech or MTech in Electrical Engineering; specialization in power systems is preferred.
• Over 5 years of experience in distribution system modeling or power systems analysis, including personally built models from imperfect source data.
• Practical experience with at least one distribution power flow tool: OpenDSS, CYME, Synergi, PowerFactory, PSS®SINCAL, or an ADMS power flow engine.
• Experience in model validation, including benchmarking one tool against another and clarifying differences.
• Background working in a production codebase alongside software developers, participating in code reviews, with tests and CI practices.
• Capability to convert a utility's raw data into a functional study within days, with shortcuts clearly defined.
• Knowledge of unbalanced three-phase distribution load flow.
• Familiarity with the distribution capacity planning cycle.
• Preferred experience with load or DER interconnection studies.
• Strongly preferred experience with large-load or data center interconnections.
• Strongly preferred experience with flexible or non-firm interconnections.
• Strongly preferred experience in connectivity model conversion at scale from CIM, GIS, or vendor exports.
• Strongly preferred experience with AMI interval data and 8760 forecasting.
• Strongly preferred experience with DER hosting capacity, N-1, and switching analysis.
• Strongly preferred proficiency in Python, including profiling numerical code at scale.
• Experience in evaluating or integrating a commercial solver SDK.
• A background in utility consulting or EPC with multi-utility exposure is strongly preferred.
• Competitive compensation.
• Comprehensive benefits.
• Opportunities for professional development.
