This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Design, develop, maintain, and provide support for enterprise business intelligence solutions utilizing Power BI, SSAS Tabular, SSRS, and associated reporting technologies.
• Lead the requirements gathering process, solution architecture, system design, estimation, development, testing, deployment, training, and ongoing support efforts.
• Design and manage enterprise semantic models, which include reusable measures, hierarchies, standardized calculations, KPIs, and Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Create advanced DAX calculations and enhance data models, SQL queries, and reporting solutions for optimal performance, scalability, and user-friendliness.
• Design and produce executive dashboards and interactive reports, adhering to Power BI best practices for visualization, accessibility, and data storytelling.
• Integrate and analyze data from enterprise data warehouses, Azure Data Lakes, Power BI Dataflows, and other enterprise data sources.
• Assist with Power BI tenant-to-tenant migrations, involving dependency analysis, artifact refactoring, validation, and governance compliance.
• Collaborate with DBAs, ETL developers, data engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders to provide integrated BI and analytics solutions.
• Define and advocate for BI strategy, architectural standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
• Architect and support enterprise data marts, SSAS Tabular models, and business intelligence environments in collaboration with data platform teams.
• Administer reporting environments, including platform configuration, security, installation, patching, and user support.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data models, standards, and operational procedures.
• Lead quality assurance activities throughout solution design, development, testing, and deployment processes.
• Mentor developers and analysts while contributing to workload planning, project estimates, and delivery timelines.
• Provide training, end-user support, and guidance to business stakeholders to foster BI solution adoption and effective use.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting capabilities, data accessibility, governance, and user experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
• At least five (5) years of experience in developing solutions with Microsoft Power BI.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in supporting enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence environments.
• At least five (5) years of experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
• Experience in deploying, supporting, and administering large-scale business intelligence solutions.
• Strong experience in Power BI administration, encompassing configuration, security, governance, and user management.
• Extensive experience in developing complex Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and advanced DAX calculations.
• Extensive experience in developing and supporting SSAS Tabular models.
• Solid understanding of data analysis, dimensional modeling, data architecture, and relational database concepts.
• Experience in designing and supporting enterprise data marts and business intelligence architectures.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Lakes, lakehouse architectures, Power BI Dataflows, and modern analytics platforms.
• Experience in performing migrations across BI environments and platforms.
• Strong SQL development and performance tuning skills.
• Experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Proficiency in utilizing SQL development and administration tools such as SSMS, Toad, or SQL Navigator.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to support users at all organizational levels.
• Preferred: experience with Power BI Fabric and emerging Microsoft analytics technologies.
• Preferred: experience supporting Azure-based data and analytics platforms.
• Preferred: knowledge of data governance, master data management, and best practices in enterprise reporting.
• Preferred: experience in leading BI modernization, migration, or cloud transformation initiatives.
