Senior Portfolio Operations Program Manager

📋 Description

• Oversee portfolio operations and accelerate speed-to-value across product and technology teams.

• Maintain a unified source of truth regarding portfolio health, encompassing initiatives, dependencies, blockers, and metrics.

• Examine workflows within product and IT to pinpoint bottlenecks, redundancies, and misalignments.

• Perform portfolio health assessments and proactively escalate risks.

• Establish speed and value frameworks while creating dashboards, KPIs, and reporting schedules.

• Monitor cycle time, deployment frequency, time-to-first-value, and ROI for informed leadership decision-making.

• Identify and address significant organizational challenges.

• Develop systemic solutions, evaluate outcomes, and refine processes.

• Create playbooks, templates, and operational models to standardize working methods.

• Design scalable solutions for vendor selection, onboarding, handoffs, and approval processes.

• Suggest data-driven enhancements to workflows, team structures, and capabilities.

• Assess practical integration of AI tools, automation, and contemporary delivery frameworks.

• Convert portfolio status and results into executive summaries.

• Persuade senior leadership regarding priorities and trade-offs.

• Cultivate relationships with teams, comprehend challenges, and mentor Program Managers and Team Leads.

• Execute any other assigned responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least seven years of program/portfolio management experience in product, IT operations, or technology delivery settings.

• Proven experience in developing metrics, dashboards, and measurement frameworks.

• Strong proficiency in data analysis.

• Background in enhancing cross-team coordination, eliminating operational barriers, and addressing organizational challenges.

• Experience within matrixed or distributed organizations is preferred.

• Capability to influence others without formal authority.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity with a proactive approach.

• Familiarity with technical products and services, along with the ability to collaborate with engineers on trade-offs.

• Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end product development life cycle, including commercialization planning, go-to-market strategy, and successful product/service launch and adoption.

• Knowledge of development, engineering, and sales processes, including Agile/Scrum, SAFe, Pragmatic Marketing Framework, and Miller Heiman.

• Preferred experience in medical devices and/or healthcare, particularly in Clinical Engineering or Clinical Asset Management.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong executive presentation skills and sound judgment.

• Proficient in strategic planning, organizational, and program management.

• Ability to convert strategy into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

• Creative problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution capabilities.

• Willingness to travel up to 15%, or roughly three business days per month.

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Computer Science, or a related field is required, or equivalent experience.
