This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Design, develop, and manage cloud-native platforms on AWS or similar environments.
• Integrate AI-driven and agentic workflows into CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, incident management, and operational tools.
• Create and sustain cloud infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
• Construct and maintain shared cloud services, including networking, IAM patterns, managed data services, observability tools, and service templates.
• Collaborate with SRE and security teams to incorporate reliability, compliance, and guardrails into platform operations.
• Design and develop backend services, APIs, and internal platforms.
• Create automation and tools using contemporary backend programming languages.
• Participate in service architecture decisions related to communication patterns, data access strategies, and resilience models.
• Evaluate code and architectural designs for performance, operability, and maintainability.
• Develop self-service interfaces, documentation, and workflows for application teams.
• Empower product teams to leverage AI-enhanced platform capabilities through secure self-service means.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and deployment tactics.
• Convert developer challenges into platform functionalities in collaboration with product managers and engineers.
• Guide engineers and impact infrastructure, backend, and platform standards.
• Engage in architecture reviews and discussions regarding the platform roadmap.
• Lead by example in operational excellence, incident management, and post-incident analysis.
• Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure engineering and backend service development.
• Proven track record in AI-native engineering environments.
• Practical experience with AWS technologies, including EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS/Aurora, S3, IAM, and VPC.
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code; Terraform is highly preferred.
• Experience with one or more backend programming languages such as Go, Python, Kotlin, Node, or Java.
• Strong grasp of distributed systems concepts, including scalability, resilience, observability, and failure modes.
• Experienced in building or managing CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
• Ability to conceptualize in terms of platforms and products.
• Comfortable working with abstractions while comprehending underlying systems.
• Experience in empowering other teams through tooling, automation, and guardrails.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Self-motivated, capable of contributing to the roadmap and taking initiative with features and user stories.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or specialized training/relevant professional qualification.
• Full stack experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with LLM platforms, agent frameworks, or AI-enhanced developer tools is preferred.
• Experience with Kubernetes, service meshes, or container orchestration platforms is preferred.
• Understanding of security and compliance concepts in regulated environments is preferred.
• Previous experience on SRE, product, platform, or internal tooling teams is preferred.
