Senior Platform Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead the Cloud Platform and SRE teams, ensuring the technical foundation and reliability that allow Prolific to scale in a secure and efficient manner.

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and opportunities for professional development to Platform teams.

• Steer the strategic vision for infrastructure and platform services, including Kubernetes (GKE) clusters.

• Take ownership of availability while integrating SRE principles, such as defining SLOs, SLAs, and error budgets.

• Improve observability and incident resolution processes.

• Oversee the developer-facing platform, including golden paths, self-service infrastructure, and internal tools.

• Manage the platform roadmap and track adoption metrics.

• Ensure that cloud environments comply with security standards such as SOC2 and ISO-27001.

• Facilitate technical decision-making and develop scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Platform, Product, Data, Design, and Research.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in leading teams within infrastructure and SRE fields, with a proven history of scaling both platforms and personnel.

• Several years of extensive knowledge in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Terragrunt, Crossplane).

• Familiarity with GitOps workflows utilizing tools such as ArgoCD.

• Strong comprehension of complex infrastructure and application architectures.

• Knowledge of observability principles and incident management strategies.

• Experience in balancing platform stability and reliability with developer productivity and speed.

• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical solutions and their feasibility to non-technical stakeholders.

• Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Terraform, Terragrunt, Crossplane, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Django Rest Framework, container-based services, Serverless architectures, MongoDB, Postgres, ElasticSearch, DynamoDB, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Celery, EventBridge, and DataDog.
