Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the key technical partner for designated mission teams throughout the stages of application onboarding, deployment, and ongoing operations.

• Assist software development teams in embracing platform functionalities, engineering standards, and best practices.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate issues within cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, platform services, and application integrations.

• Grasp technical requirements and suggest platform capabilities that align with mission objectives.

• Create reusable platform features to tackle recurring technical challenges and enhance the developer experience.

• Formulate technical solutions for application onboarding, deployment, operational processes, and lifecycle management.

• Collaborate with cloud engineers, Kubernetes engineers, cybersecurity experts, and technical product managers.

• Enhance platform reliability, automation, security, documentation, and operational workflows.

• Create technical documentation, implementation guidance, knowledge articles, and engineering standards.

• Engage in architecture discussions, technical evaluations, and engineering projects.

• Monitor platform health, identify operational risks, and propose enhancements.

• Cultivate trusted relationships through responsive technical leadership and customer-centric engineering.

• Empower mission teams to adopt and effectively utilize platform capabilities.

• Enhance platform reliability, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and the developer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret clearance at the time of application.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.

• At least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in designing, building, and managing production Kubernetes platforms.

• Current CompTIA Security+ certification or an equivalent Department of Defense approved Information Assurance certification.

• Proven experience in engineering and supporting cloud-native platforms, including Kubernetes, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and contemporary software delivery environments.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across infrastructure, networking, platform services, and software deployments while effectively communicating with technical clients.

• Experience in delivering mission-focused technical engagement by establishing trusted relationships, understanding customer needs, and providing practical engineering solutions.

• Experience in implementing automation, Infrastructure as Code, and operational best practices that enhance platform reliability, scalability, and developer productivity.

• Proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams while influencing technical decisions and continuously enhancing platform capabilities.
