Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop, oversee, and enhance cloud infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.

• Automate system configurations through tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

• Collaborate with various teams to seamlessly integrate infrastructure within CI/CD pipelines.

• Acquire practical experience with policy as code frameworks, including Open Policy Agent and HashiCorp Sentinel.

• Convert high-level security requirements into actionable policy as code implementations across both cloud and on-premises environments.

• Assist in the implementation and scaling of automated security controls within Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP, and various operating systems.

• Keep abreast of infrastructure management and automation trends to ensure a robust and scalable system foundation.

• Contribute to the Mondoo Platform, enhancing its policy engine, resources, scalability, and multi-region capabilities.

• Aid teams in assessing, scoping, prioritizing, triaging, and addressing security findings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong practical experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Proficiency in configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

• Solid understanding of at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Ability to script in Python, Bash, or a similar language.

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and DNS.

• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.

• Eagerness to learn and evolve in the area of security policies and automation.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.

• Familiarity with Open Policy Agent or HashiCorp Sentinel is preferred.

• Understanding of CIS, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 compliance standards is preferred.

• Exposure to cloud-native security tools and services is preferred.

• Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP are preferred.

• GitHub/GitLab repositories or a portfolio showcasing security policy implementation, policy as code, and cloud security tools.

• Must reside in and have the legal right to work in Bulgaria or Germany.
