Senior Full Stack Software Engineer – Developer Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design and create Playbypoint's external API, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and versioned.

• Develop and manage MCP servers and skills that expose Playbypoint functionalities to AI agents and developer tools.

• Take ownership of the developer experience, which includes API documentation, developer portal, onboarding processes, SDKs, and sandbox environments.

• Establish API governance standards, focusing on versioning strategies, deprecation policies, backward compatibility, and managing breaking changes.

• Create infrastructure that supports observable and reliable external interfaces, incorporating elements like rate limiting, authentication, throttling, and usage analytics.

• Collaborate with product and internal engineering teams to present platform capabilities through uniform integration agreements.

• Monitor and influence how human and AI developers interact with Playbypoint.

• Engage with AI tools throughout the processes of design, coding, code review, testing, debugging, and incident analysis.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on API design, platform development, or developer tooling.

• Proficient across the full technology stack, encompassing backend API design as well as frontend developer portal/documentation interfaces.

• Proven experience in designing and launching public or partner-facing APIs at scale, focusing on versioning, authentication models, rate limiting, and managing the full lifecycle of an external API.

• Practical experience in constructing AI-era integration surfaces, such as MCP servers, agent skills, LLM tool definitions, or analogous patterns.

• Experience in building or contributing to developer portals, SDKs, or documentation systems.

• Knowledgeable in backward compatibility, contract stability, and managing breaking changes for external APIs.

• Able to work collaboratively across teams to establish integration agreements.

• Excellent written and spoken English skills.

• Regularly utilize AI tools throughout the development lifecycle.

• Experience in creating AI-powered tools or agents that have been deployed to production.
