Senior Pipeline Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Develop the pipeline integrity roadmap alongside Product Management and Software Engineering.

• Identify problems, create user stories, establish acceptance criteria, and validate releases.

• Convert API 1160, ASME B31.8S, ASME B31.8, and similar regulations into actionable functional requirements.

• Write and evaluate technical specifications, calculation logic, and product documentation.

• Validate product performance against actual pipeline data.

• Incorporate operator insights into design reviews, prototypes, and usability sessions.

• Collaborate with Mechanical Static Integrity, Reliability, and Functional Safety teams.

• Facilitate business process review workshops and align customer integrity processes with the platform.

• Oversee implementation, configuration, and data migration projects in partnership with Customer Success and Delivery.

• Conduct training and awareness sessions on software tools and business processes.

• Assist in planning inspections and ILI, managing anomalies, conducting corrosion assessments, ensuring fitness for service, and making repair decisions based on risk assessments.

• Address intricate technical inquiries post-launch and integrate recurring trends into the product roadmap.

• Set maturity benchmarks, adoption metrics, and customer success outcomes.

• Represent Cenosco at conferences, user groups, standards committees, and industry working groups.

• Author technical articles, white papers, webinars, and customer case studies.

• Support sales and pre-sales through demonstrations, in-depth technical discussions, and proposal contributions.

• Train team members across Product, Delivery, and Commercial sectors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in pipeline integrity, ideally within the Oil & Gas, Chemicals, or Petrochemicals sectors.

• Knowledge from the operator's perspective, with direct responsibility for making pipeline integrity decisions.

• Proficient understanding of pipeline integrity management practices, including threat identification, risk assessment, inspection and ILI planning, ILI data analysis, and anomaly evaluation.

• Experience in fitness for service assessments utilizing ASME B31G, RSTRENG, and API 579.

• Knowledge of pipeline degradation mechanisms and their mitigation/monitoring techniques, such as cathodic protection, coatings, chemical treatments, and above-ground survey methods.

• Familiarity with AIM or APM tools and digital integrity solutions.

• Comfort with data, including its quality, structure, and limitations.

• Strong interest in AI, ML, and advanced technologies.

• Some experience or curiosity regarding software and digitalization in engineering processes.

• Openness to working in short cycles with product managers and developers.

• Excellent communication skills with both engineers and executives.

• Ability to adapt to various roles in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

• A master's degree in pipeline engineering or a related engineering field is preferred.

• Chartered or Professional Engineer status is preferred.

• Familiarity with pipeline standards and certifications such as ISO, NACE, or AMPP is preferred.

• Experience participating in standards organizations, joint industry initiatives, or industry working groups is preferred.

• A record of published papers, conference presentations, or webinars is preferred.

• Experience in implementing or managing pipeline integrity software from the customer's perspective is preferred.

• Experience working with international operators is preferred.
