Senior PHP Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead the development of high-performance distributed systems designed to manage global traffic.

• Enhance and improve services to boost scalability and efficiency.

• Spearhead the shift towards a service-oriented architecture to ensure modularity and resilience.

• Uphold SOLID principles, design patterns, and standards for testing.

• Mentor mid-level engineers through code reviews and share technical knowledge.

• Identify service bottlenecks and implement sophisticated caching and database strategies.

• Collaborate with Product and DevOps teams to translate intricate requirements into scalable technical roadmaps.

• Engage in the on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 service reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional backend development experience with a strong proficiency in PHP.

• More than 4 years of experience in enterprise-level application development using Laravel or an equivalent senior experience in Symfony.

• Expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and messaging patterns such as SQS or Pub/Sub.

• Capability to effectively utilize AI tools during technical tasks, including prompting, validating, and iterating.

• Proficient in SQL and NoSQL, including performance tuning and transactions at scale.

• Experience in architecting on AWS and managing containerized environments with Docker.

• Knowledge of clean code practices, automated testing, and CI/CD best practices.

• Fluent in English with the ability to convey complex technical trade-offs to stakeholders.

• Familiarity with SaaS/PaaS, SOA, or microservices architecture (preferred).

• Experience with eSIM or GSMA technologies (preferred).

• Understanding of Traveltech solutions (preferred).

• Background in building or maintaining custom SDKs (preferred).
