Senior PHP Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design of high-performance distributed systems that can manage global traffic.

• Enhance and refine services to boost scalability and efficiency.

• Propel the shift towards a service-oriented architecture for improved modularity and resilience.

• Uphold SOLID principles, design patterns, code quality, and testing standards.

• Mentor mid-level engineers through comprehensive code reviews and sharing of technical insights.

• Detect service bottlenecks and implement sophisticated caching and database strategies.

• Collaborate with Product and DevOps teams to transform complex requirements into scalable technical roadmaps.

• Engage in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support global service reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional backend development experience with a strong command of PHP.

• More than 4 years of experience in building enterprise-grade applications in Laravel or equivalent senior experience in Symfony.

• Expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and messaging patterns such as SQS or Pub/Sub.

• Proficient in utilizing AI tools for technical tasks, including prompting, validation, and iteration.

• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL, including performance tuning and managing transactions at scale.

• Experience in architecting on AWS and managing containerized environments using Docker.

• Commitment to clean code, automated testing, and CI/CD best practices.

• Fluent in English and capable of conveying complex technical trade-offs to stakeholders.

• Candidates must currently reside in Spain and be fully eligible to work there.

• Participation in the on-call rotation is mandatory.
