Senior Pharmacist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver drug information responses to patients, their families, pharmacists, nurses, physicians, medical students, pharmacy students, and hospital staff.

• Authorize new medication orders, encompassing chemotherapy verification, informed consent assessments, and non-formulary requests.

• Evaluate for drug-drug, drug-herb/dietary supplement, drug-allergy, drug-food, drug-disease state, and drug-laboratory interactions.

• Manage patients' pharmaceutical requirements in clinical care settings.

• Validate and disseminate medication orders.

• Confirm the suitable dose, route, frequency, and duration of therapy.

• Assess patient medication profiles for interactions, duplicate therapies, allergies, and appropriate treatment regimens.

• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to address pharmaceutical needs.

• Oversee Pharm.D. students and pharmacy technicians.

• Educate undergraduate and graduate students.

• Offer educational programs for physicians, nurses, and pharmacy personnel.

• Engage in pertinent hospital and departmental committees.

⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in Ohio.

• Advanced degree (Pharm.D./MS) is preferred.

• One year of residency training and/or equivalent experience is preferred.

• Successful completion of a background check is mandatory for final candidates.

• A drug screen or physical examination may be required during the post-offer process.

• Flexibility to work varying shifts.

• Capability to provide care suitable for adult, adolescent, geriatric, and neonatal patients.

• Understanding of medication dosing and pharmaceutical requirements relative to disease processes and patient age.
