This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee performance testing initiatives, which include planning, workload modeling, test design, scripting, execution, analysis, reporting, and communication with stakeholders.

• Define and confirm non-functional requirements and performance service level objectives.

• Create and implement testing scenarios for load, stress, spike, endurance, scalability, and capacity.

• Construct realistic workload models that reflect business transactions, actual usage patterns, and anticipated growth.

• Organize performance test environments, monitoring and observability needs, test data strategies, and distributed load generation.

• Evaluate performance metrics, logs, traces, and monitoring information across applications, databases, infrastructure, JVMs, containers, and cloud services.

• Detect bottlenecks and root causes while proposing corrective measures.

• Set performance baselines and pinpoint regressions across various releases.

• Design, develop, and sustain performance testing frameworks, automation tools, CI/CD integrations, and cloud-native testing capabilities.

• Provide support for AWS services, Kubernetes clusters, Docker containers, Helm deployments, and microservices architectures.

• Engage in architecture and design evaluations to identify potential performance and scalability risks.

• Mentor engineers on performance engineering practices, tools, and best methodologies.

• Assess new performance engineering, observability, and AI-driven testing solutions.

• Communicate performance insights, risks, and remediation recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders.

• Lead the development of software solutions, including coding, unit testing, code reviews, integration, troubleshooting, defect remediation, and production log analysis.

• Guide and train developers throughout the process.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and over 5 years of pertinent professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Additional relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.

• More than 5 years of experience in performance testing and engineering for large-scale web, mobile, and digital applications, APIs, and microservices, with at least 2 years in a technical lead capacity.

• Strong expertise in performance testing enterprise applications across REST, GraphQL, SOAP, HTTP/S, WebSockets, monolithic, microservices, and serverless frameworks.

• Proficient in deploying, executing, and managing JMeter or similar performance testing tools within cloud-hosted containerized environments like Kubernetes on AWS.

• Skilled at constructing workload models based on production usage data and generating performance reports.

• Experienced in designing, generating, and managing extensive test data sets.

• Solid understanding of Java, JVM tuning, thread analysis, memory management, and performance optimization.

• Familiar with integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines and endorsing shift-left performance engineering.

• Working knowledge of relational, NoSQL, and time-series databases, including database performance tuning.

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Amazon CloudWatch, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.

• Knowledge of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes/container platforms, and modern web application infrastructure.

• Proficient in conducting performance, load, stress, scalability, endurance, and capacity testing.

• Relevant experience in Agile environments, collaborating with Development, DevOps, Architecture, Product, and Infrastructure teams.

• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder communication abilities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Proven track record of influencing cross-functional teams and driving performance enhancements.

• Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities.

• Strong leadership, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing skills.

• Excellent organizational and documentation capabilities.

• Ability to excel in fast-paced Agile settings.

• Preferred: experience in supporting healthcare, government, or regulated technology initiatives.

• Preferred: experience with AI-assisted test generation, analysis, and performance optimization tools.

• Preferred: experience contributing to architecture evaluations and cloud modernization projects.
