Senior Payroll Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive weekly payroll processes for more than 10 entities and 500+ shift-based employees.

• Skillfully interpret and implement payroll across various Australian Modern Awards, ensuring adherence to intricate shift variations and pay conditions.

• Evaluate timesheets and manage configuration setups within Employment Hero across multiple site locations.

• Conduct End of Financial Year (EOFY) finalizations and prepare reconciliation reports.

• Act as the main contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing prompt, clear, and professional solutions.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and accountants to enhance payroll processes, adapt to complicated operational environments, and scale systems for business expansion.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of comprehensive Australian payroll experience managing high-volume, multi-entity operations (10+ entities on a weekly basis).

• Practical experience with Employment Hero, including intricate multi-site configurations and timesheet review processes.

• Proven track record in executing Australian EOFY year-end finalizations and reporting.

• Demonstrated experience in processing payroll for shift-based workforces with varied rosters and complex Modern Award conditions.

• Previous experience in supporting Australian payroll within the early childhood, education, or multi-site retail/hospitality sectors (preferred).

• Background in scaling offshore or client-service delivery environments (preferred).

• Familiarity with broader accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations workflows (preferred).

• High reliability, decisiveness, and transparency in maintaining payroll integrity.

• Ability to navigate a complex payroll setup with a substantial learning curve.

• Clear, empathetic, and effective communication abilities.
