This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Efficiently, accurately, and timely execute day-to-day payroll activities while ensuring adherence to payroll policies and regulatory standards.
• Calculate, compile, validate, and submit payroll transactions and adjustments for designated employee groups.
• Manage intricate payroll situations such as union payroll, expatriate payroll, off-cycle payments, special earnings, and other unique pay scenarios.
• Compute miscellaneous pay components in accordance with federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations.
• Create, review, audit, and process manual checks and special payroll disbursements.
• Prepare and verify manual upload files and associated payroll data.
• Conduct payroll entries and review processes related to garnishments, deductions, and special payroll transactions.
• Assist with employee receivables and the recovery of overpayments.
• Identify, investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve both routine and complex payroll discrepancies and processing challenges.
• Provide support for employee escalations and offer advanced payroll guidance to help desk and shared services teams.
• Research and process tax adjustments and aid in resolving complex payroll and tax issues.
• Collaborate with Payroll, Time & Labor, HR, Finance, and other departments to address recurring operational challenges.
• Assist with system enhancements, integration testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and implementation tasks.
• Lead small-scale process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing payroll accuracy, minimizing manual effort, and boosting operational efficiency.
• Develop, maintain, and update process documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Offer training, onboarding assistance, mentorship, and guidance to Payroll Operations Specialists and new team members.
• Contribute to special projects and carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• High School Diploma with over 7 years of progressive payroll processing experience.
• Advanced experience in payroll processing and troubleshooting, specifically in complex payroll scenarios.
• Experience in processing large volume payroll for a headcount of 10,000 or more.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to payroll accuracy and compliance.
• US Citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain security clearance as necessary.
• Preferred experience with UltiPro Payroll, Costpoint Payroll, and Deltek Time & Expense systems.
• Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
• Preferred experience in supporting union payroll, expatriate payroll, payroll tax processing, and audit functions.
• Preferred experience in payroll integrations, testing, and process automation initiatives.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional partners and lead process improvement efforts is preferred.
