This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and implement patient engagement initiatives throughout Amgen’s enterprise and portfolio teams.
• Foster operational excellence and consistency in onboarding, strategic communications, storytelling projects, key meetings and events, as well as enterprise-wide collaboration.
• Develop and enhance capabilities, tools, processes, governance frameworks, and best practices for scalable patient engagement.
• Assist in the coordination and synchronization of patient engagement efforts across Amgen's various functions and therapeutic areas.
• Act as the main point of contact for R&D Operations and essential cross-functional partners.
• Collaborate with global and cross-functional operations teams to implement patient engagement activities that align with standards, timelines, and stakeholder requirements.
• Manage daily operations, including project management, resource planning, engagement oversight, process optimization, and reporting.
• Facilitate patient engagement communications and storytelling projects.
• Ensure that activities adhere to company policies and external regulatory standards.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, increased efficiency, and improved patient-centered strategies.
• Report directly to the Director of Enterprise Advocacy Operations.
• Travel as needed to support key meetings, events, and cross-functional collaborations.
• Doctorate degree with 2 years of experience in patient engagement, patient advocacy, or healthcare policy, OR a Master’s degree with 4 years of experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience, OR an Associate’s degree with 10 years of experience, OR a High school diploma/GED with 12 years of experience.
• 7+ years of experience in patient engagement, advocacy, healthcare operations, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, program management, or related areas.
• Proven track record of establishing and maintaining trusted relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including patient organizations, communities, caregivers, and other stakeholders in the patient community.
• Strong operational and strategic thinking skills with a demonstrated history of creating, implementing, and continuously enhancing enterprise processes, capabilities, and programs.
• Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives or programs, including managing projects and timelines, coordinating resources, resolving issues, and executing across multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced setting.
• Familiarity with healthcare industry compliance, legal, medical, and regulatory factors related to patient engagement and interactions with external stakeholders.
• Background in developing and optimizing operational processes, governance structures, workflows, and performance metrics.
• Experience in a global, highly matrixed organization, collaborating across various functions, geographies, and business units.
• Outstanding organizational, collaborative, and problem-solving abilities.
