• Take ownership of essential money-movement processes from start to finish: including authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, reconciliation, and handling chargebacks/disputes.
• Construct idempotent, fault-tolerant, and auditable transaction processing within a distributed architecture, utilizing transactional outbox patterns and queues such as Kafka, SQS, or RabbitMQ.
• Work within PCI DSS compliance, focusing on tokenization, network tokens, secure management of payment data, and 3DS/SCA flows when relevant.
• Monitor and instrument payment health metrics, including authorization/decline rates, processor performance, latency, and settlement accuracy, to foster continuous enhancement.
• Incorporate AI tools (such as Claude and similar LLMs) into your daily tasks to expedite design, coding, research, testing, and documentation, all while adhering to Sezzle's security and data-handling policies.
• Provide mentorship to engineers and contribute to elevating team performance.
• Prior experience with Claude or an equivalent large language model tool is essential; candidates should be adept at utilizing AI to boost productivity, research, and communication.

• Proficient in Go (preferred) or have comparable experience in Python, focused on building and serving REST APIs.
• Practical experience in integrating with payment processors, gateways, or acquiring systems, along with a firm understanding of payments fundamentals: authorization vs. settlement, tokenization, idempotency, reconciliation, and chargebacks/disputes.
• Experience in distributed, cloud-based architectures utilizing patterns such as transactional outboxes or queuing tools like Kafka, SQS, or RabbitMQ.
• Proven, hands-on experience using Claude or an equivalent LLM to improve productivity, research, and communication; candidates should be comfortable making AI a fundamental aspect of their workflow and demonstrate how it has enhanced their output.
