Senior Oracle Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide database administration support for critical business applications in both production and non-production settings.

• Ensure the availability and performance of Oracle databases.

• Manage Oracle databases across various operating systems including RHEL and Windows.

• Install and configure Oracle Server 19c/23i RAC on multi-node environments.

• Set up and maintain Oracle Cloud Control.

• Upgrade Oracle databases as needed.

• Establish and oversee reliable backup strategies, ensuring successful backups are performed.

• Proactively manage database security protocols and standards.

• Apply Oracle security patches and bug fixes in both production and non-production environments.

• Administer Oracle GoldenGate, including extract creation, replication, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Implement security measures such as SSL and encryption.

• Develop and support scripts for database maintenance.

• Create and maintain documentation for database design and support.

• Configure Active Data Guard and automatic failover using Data Guard Broker.

• Configure container and pluggable databases.

• Provide 24x7 on-call support.

• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams in both on-premises and cloud environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration.

• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Control 13c or later.

• Experience with the Linux operating system.

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience administering Oracle RAC.

• Proficiency with Oracle management tools such as Data Guard, Active Data Guard, RMAN, and Data Loader.

• Experience managing databases on Exadata and Azure platforms.

• Knowledge of Oracle Partitioning.

• Strong Unix scripting abilities.

• Experience with Oracle databases on RHEL and Windows operating systems.

• Experience in installing and configuring Oracle Server 19c/23i RAC in multi-node systems.

• Experience in configuring and maintaining Oracle Cloud Control.

• Familiarity with Oracle database upgrades, backup strategies, security standards, SSL, and encryption.

• Experience in developing database maintenance scripts and documentation.

• Experience in configuring Active Data Guard and automatic failover using Data Guard Broker.

• Experience in configuring container and pluggable databases.

• Preferred: Experience in PostgreSQL database administration.

• Preferred: Experience in MongoDB administration.

• Oracle Certified Professional is preferred.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Self-starter capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to provide 24x7 on-call support.

• Must reside in the United States.
